We understand that waiting for care can be stressful. This page outlines the typical wait times for patients at the Edmonton Bone & Joint Centre. While these times are subject to change based on referral volume and surgical availability, we aim to provide up-to-date estimates to help you understand your patient journey.

Hip and Knee Wait Times

Our team is committed to supporting you through each stage of your hip or knee care journey. Below are the current estimated wait times from your initial referral to surgery. These times reflect average durations and help set expectations for what to anticipate along the way.

Referral to Screening Visit (MSK)

This is the time from when your referral is received by our clinic to your first Musculoskeletal (MSK) assessment appointment.

Estimated Wait Time:

15-25 Weeks

MSK to Surgery Consult

This is the time it typically takes to see a surgeon from the time your referral is first received by the clinic (if you are a surgical candidate following your MSK assessment).

Estimated Wait Time:

45-55 Weeks

Referral to Surgery

This is the timeframe between your consultation with the surgeon and your scheduled surgery date.

Estimated Wait Time:

77-102 Weeks

Shoulder Wait Times

Shoulder conditions often require a unique care path. Here you’ll find estimated wait times from your initial referral to your surgery date. These timelines are based on current averages and are intended to help you understand the steps and timing involved in your shoulder care process.

Foot & Ankle Wait Times

This is the time from when your referral is received by our clinic to your first Musculoskeletal (MSK) assessment appointment.

About The Edmonton Bone and Joint Centre

The Edmonton Bone and Joint Centre (EBJC) is a private, not-for-profit clinic. We partner with Alberta Health Services and the Institute for Improved Health Outcomes to provide both surgical and non-surgical care for patients with musculoskeletal issues.

Our clinics are located on the second floor of Northgate Centre, above Walmart. Free parking is available. We look forward to seeing you!
